The Youngs' Christmas, 1962
left to right — kitten, book, santa, Meno (Mitzie?)

The dog was named by Dad after an old Asian folk tale.
Meno translates to "I don't know,"
which is what everyone said when the traveler asked a question, like,
"Who lives in this luxurious palace? Whose garden is this? Who owns all those cattle?"
He concludes Meno must be a very wealthy man.
Then a casket passes him on the street. "Who's funeral is that?"
"Meno."
"Oh, God, for all his wealth and riches, his giant palace and all his land, the rich Meno died!"

Dad brought a world of culture into our family, along with a bunch of nuts.
Dear Paul, why don't you get that old 78 record copied to a cassette for me?
Well, excuuuuse me! I didn't know you were listening!
Love you all.
Merry Christmas!

P.S. Ooops! Writer's mental cramp -- The dog is Mitzie, I think, but I'll leave the above in place anyway.
